Which kernel modules are you talking about exactly? From a quick
glance at the code, FireHOL doesn't seem to load any modules
explicitly, and only tests for the presence of "ip_nat_*" and
"ip_conntrack_*".

If those modules changed names, then that could be the problem.
Otherwise, the problem may be in your version of the "iptables"
command.
